OABA-Duke Smith Memorial Education Fund Scholarship
In 1996, the OABA created a scholarship program as a privately held, non-profit corporation, Mobile Amusements, Inc. (MAI). Since that time, thanks to generous gifts from Allied Specialty Insurance, Gold Medal Products and donations from the OABA Board and members, more than 500 scholarships have been awarded. The OABA-Duke Smith Memorial Education Fund Scholarship is interested in the furthering of educational goals for the young people within our industry. The youth of today will be the leaders of tomorrow and will require the tools necessary to be competitive in an increasingly complex work environment.
The OABA-Duke Smith Memorial Education Fund Scholarship continues to provide opportunities to eligible undergraduates for higher education. Since 2005, a special $3000 David Smith Memorial Scholarship has been presented annually to an outstanding high school senior.
The Nick Alberts Memorial Scholarship
Scholarships aren't just for students attending a traditional 4-year college. The Nick Alberts Memorial Scholarship was added in 2022, targeting students who are advancing their education in the Trade School environment. Anyone planning to attend a Trade School to advance their education in the trades needed for the outdoor amusement business is eligible to submit an application for the Nick Alberts Memorial Scholarship.
Program details are available below. Please note, you must be a member in good standing of the OABA to apply for a scholarship.
