Animal Legislative Updates - June 3, 2021
from the desk of Vanessa Gagne

Over the past weekend, some members of the Texas House walked out of the assembly in protest of a GOP voting bill. This led Governor Abbott to call a special session and refuse to sign any and all bills on his desk. He is also making moves to defund the legislature until they return to work. That means that TX HB 1818, a pet store bill that made it to his desk, is now stuck. We will have to wait and see if it will be considered in special session.
